The only national event of its kind, NAEHCY’s annual conference provides professional development and networking opportunities for roughly 1,000 attendees.

NAEHCY Annual Awards

Over the years, NAEHCY's annual awards have become an important mechanism by which the homeless education community recognizes it members who have made outstanding contributions to the field and to serving and supporting children and youth experiencing homelessness. Award recipients are selected through a screening and selection process overseen by a dedicated committee of State Coordinators for Homeless Education and other experts in the field. Award winners are recognized at a special ceremony held during the NAEHCY Annual Conference.

Awards will be presented during the 2012 NAEHCY Annual Conference in Albuquerque, NM. Photos of recipients will be posted to this webpage following the conference. Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:

  • Category One: Outstanding School-Based Program
  • Category Two: Outstanding Individual Working in a Program
  • Category Three: Distinguished Service and Leadership
  • Category Four: Outstanding Student or Class
  • Category Five: Outstanding Media Presentation
  • Category Six: The Sandra Neese Lifetime Achievement Award
